The Russian Border Guard seized Spanish fishing vessel Adexe Primero in Western Arctic region, due to violation of the rules and requirements, regulating fishing in inland waters, the territorial sea, the continental shelf. The local authorities initiated an administrative case in Court of Murmansk against the Master of the vessel, which was fishing Arctic crab without permission and registered quota. The crew of the ship include 14 Russians, 8 Ukrainians, 5 Moldovans and Spanish captain. The Border Guard and authorities will start investigation of the facts of crab fishing in the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation. The vessel was escorted by patrol ship to Russian port Murmansk and all the crew was detained until further decision from the court and local authorities.
"On Jule 23, the border guard seized the fishing ship Adexe Primero in exclusive economic zone of the Russian federation and decided to initiate an administrative case under Part 2 of the Administrative Code against the ship's captain Elias Garcia Blanco and legal entity Mariscos Polar SL for violation of the rules and requirements, regulating fishing in inland waters, the territorial sea, the continental shelf, in the EEZ of the Russian Federation or the open sea", said the secretary of Russian Border Guard, Lilly Frost. "On July 16 Murmansk border guards detained in the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation the ship Adexe Primero under the flag of Spain, which led illegal fishing crab", finished the official statement of the secretary.
The captain of fishing ship Adexe Primero petitioned for the release of the vessel on bail. The amount of bail will determine the Court of Murmansk, after the case materials are saw and the accident is investigated
According to other sources, the fishing ship was previously operating in Pacific Ocean under another name, where got another administrative responsibility for violations of fishing regulations.
